WORK DAYS AT CAMP SMOKY

Camp Smoky "To Do List" in Priority (2/7/12) (priority in bold)

I. The volunteer team needs to send someone, if possible, a few days earlier than the date of the work day to see the campus and to look at what needs to be done in order to do a better job. II. If you are able to determine what you are going to do, then you are better able to bring the right tools and cleaning supplies. III. If you are able to donate 100% of everything you need and are doing; that will be a great blessing.

1. Camp Residence: a) plastic needs to be spread on the ground below the house/found plastic that we can use; b) insulation under the house; c) furnace system (clean outside of unit); d) tighten down loose roof; e) pressure washing exterior/roof; f) varmints getting into duct work; g) cutting trees around/close to house; h) back deck water problem (lower deck); i) front gutter; j) ditching along the back; k) painting inside; l) staining outside; m) replace/rebuild exterior bad siding; n) inside cleaning (floors & everything/windows)

2. Hill Building: a) Cleaning the electric griddle & convection oven; b) deep cleaning in the kitchen/removing unneeded stuff; c) clean camp store room/freezer (melted ice cream); d) install another drain valve on third shut off valve & replace faucet on another w/drain valve; e) build a cover for septic tank; f) hole in outside wall; g) gutter work; h) heating/air units in bonus/motel rooms need checking/cleaning; i) laundry & storage rooms need cleaning out and cleaning up; j) washing machine faucet needs repair; k) General Cleaning

3. Pickle Building: a) Roofing (small roof section & trim/edging to finish); b) Dorm room #3 finishing the ceiling/cleaning ceiling in all dorm rooms; c) Cleanup to be done around building; d) Cleaning to be done inside the building/both closets need cleaning & throwing away junk; e) Checking & cleaning the heating/air units in each room; f) improve drainage in front of building next to upper dorm rooms; g) repair concrete at entrance?; h) enclose interior plumbing?; i) dry wall throughout interior?; j) blow out valve installed with outside shut off valve?

4. Atchley Building: a) outside duct work has damage; b) GOOD PVC pipes/metal roofing/concrete blocks/rebar to collect/organize; c) scaffolding to collect; d) outside trash to collect; e) broken blocks to discard; f) pour outside entrance at front & side doors

5. Ellis Building: a) check circuit breaker; b) water drainage to improve around building; c) tons of firewood to split back of building

6. Cleanup to be done around the camp; carrying off trash from around the several buildings to the dumpster

7. Pool Equipment House - cleaning & making a drain from door to the side

8. Maintenance Shed & Equipment – cleaning/organizing, check out small engine equipment & building bigger shed

9. Pool Pump House - make a drain on the up hill side
